So, a lot of times macro photography requires stabilizing the camera itself and using a tripod.

Macro shooting tripod, in fact, in most cases ordinary photography tripod (non-camera class) can meet. I personally concluded that a macro tripod needs to have at least a few features:

1. Stability. The shelf must not be light, too cheap, too lightweight material is difficult to stabilize the equipment, so choose higher stability tripod is more suitable.

2. Cloud head meets the needs of macro shooting. There are many kinds of tripod cloud head, common photography triangle cloud head has spherical cloud head, three-dimensional cloud head, etc., camera tripod and hydraulic cloud head, shooting macro theme, I personally think spherical cloud head can be, but the premise is to choose a large bearing cloud head, if the use of full frame plus macro lens, although the weight is not too big, but also not light, In order to shoot stability, safety, spherical head to choose a reliable.

3, the central axis function to meet the macro shooting. Macro shooting doesn't have to be done on a shelf. There are many times when you need to change the Angle of the shot. For example, if you need to photograph a plant from above where it is not easy to erect a tripod, you need to use a tripod with a horizontal axis. The center axis of the tripod can be rolled over, like a small camera rocker arm, extending the use of the tripod. You can put the plane in a position that is inaccessible to a regular tripod.

If you're shooting on the ground, or at a very low Angle, you might want to use the inverted center axis function. You might want to use a shelf with the inverted center axis function so you can mount the camera upside down and shoot low.
